Thinking about the push / pull balance b/w the brain and heart and how that dictates decisions you make in life this evening.  I don’t know much about Marcus Aurelius, but this quote is excellent

Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart –

Amazing that in a few weeks I’ll be hanging out in Switzerland with German friends and a Colombian I met in Baghdad watching a band that’s been relevant in my emotional well being for years and years.  Giving a nod to the gods for lining things like this up for us.

In the last couple weeks, I’ve had the honor of meeting and having in depth conversation with a true nihilist; his defense of nothing strengthens my convictions in everything

A person close to me said it was f*cking stupid for me coming out to the desert, I resented that comment.  I’ve come to understand the perspective after much introspection.  Heart think is just as powerful as brain think and more admirable these days because there is less supply.

I’m looking for reassurance that heart think is at least 50% of what moves you forward.  In the meantime, I’ll strive for titles, grab for the next rung, compare salaries and bank accounts and talk about how cool my life and job are at the feast of ego, where nourishment is absent while bodies are plentiful.
