confidence and usefulness and purpose

The relativity of life — I’ve been to a few concerts in my time, but honestly one of the most fun gigs I’ve ever attended was Bad Company at the garrison in Baghdad.

For a band, talk about hoping you don’t suck — how’s about having a couple thousand fans all having machine guns.

Clausewitz said everything in a war is easy, but all things easy in war are difficult.  Thinking about moral, and the logistics involved in getting quality entertainment out here is mind boggling.

In the right place at the right time, gigs like this have a profound effect on your disposition.  I don’t give a damn if its not cool, new or hip, these guys put me on cloud 9 tonight.
